This video caught me off gaurd. I absolutely did not expect this dapper young cellist (Kevin Olusola) to go where he did with this song.

Yet another example of my preconceived notions of classical instruments being challenged.

Quite a great piece by Stephen Fry about language and the often pedantic pursuit of maintaining the English language as it has been made me think about my own haughty viewpoints.  His point about “making a doing word out of a thing word” is so childishly poignant.
Verbing, nouning and metaphor is certainly beautiful in this spoken poem.

Music in Our Bones #1

The desire to create music seems to be buried deep within us as humans.  Sure we all have our own ties to music that enriches our lives in a variety of ways, but what continues to fascinate me is that people seem drawn to music, often playing the simplest and most rudimentary of instruments.

For example:

Little Miss Curious Does Architecture, Life, Love & Other Stuff

Mindful Stew

Paul Barnwell simmers elements of digital technology, education, and purposeful living.
